I just got back from Las Vegas; this past week I attended Kevin Hogan's Influence Boot Camp: 2008. It was a simply spectacular conference, and if you have any doubts about attending, set them aside, and make plans to attend the 2009 conference, like NOW.
As just one example, one of the homework exercises was to go out and try to seduce an intimidating member of the opposite sex. Being the good student that I am, I started on my homework 3 minutes after receiving it... and had completed it in another 30 minutes or so. =) A good start to the evening, but I was not prepared for what followed next.
I was walking back to my room, when I was approached by two lovely young ladies, who offered to join me. Once they knocked on my door, they promptly informed me that they were (ahem) members of the world's oldest profession, and wanted to talk business. At that point, I had to confess to them that I wasn't really in the market for their services. However, I offered to let them serve as beta testers for the products I'm developing, so we might both benefit. They politely declined, and departed soon afterwards.
I surmised that if these girls weren't willing to invest in improving their own abilities, then why should I invest in them?
